Im thinking the maybe at some level hate themselves? I dunno. :/ Would have to look a little more into it.
There is nothing that I hate more than jerk-ass bullies. I really hope they get a good pounding. To get an appropriate attitude adjustment, I think they need to spend a few months in traction.
Although these two thugs are covered up by their clothing, seems that they’re on the uberstrong / buffed up side themselves.
Psychologically-speaking, could their expressed derogatory behavior be in fact a façade, that they’re intimated and/or jealous of uberstrong / buffed-up women?
Twenty-Third Century psychology!
Since these guys are space laborers (see Lyman’s comment on the previous episode), maybe their real dispute is not only that Bumbl-Bee and Quadra are buff(er than they are), but that they aren’t working class and didn’t come by their muscles through “a honest day’s work”…
However, the only hole I can see in that is if they are space laborers, they’d be operating in a zero-G and/or low grav environment, so there would be no gain in strength/size as a side benefit from physical labor. If anything, they’d have no gain at all, or if stationed on a construction site for a prolonged period, the reverse would become the case with them gradually losing strength/size.
I like it when my readers analyze things in the storyline. One limitation of this format is that I have to pace the story along as quickly as possible and sometimes skim over pertinent details. Do note we are in a time when genetic selection has been in place for awhile and spacecraft have artificial gravity: both of which could keep a body in better shape than is possible with today’s limitations.
